Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact seeks a Project Coordinator to join our staff. Our organization serves a network of 57 colleges and universities across both states. We exist to help our member institutions meet the public purpose of higher education. We see this as building a pipeline of leaders in both states who are committed to the civic health of their communities. This position reports to the Executive Director but will work with all members of the IAMNCC staff.

A successful applicant may be early in their professional life without extensive past employment experience. As we consider applicants, we will value those individuals who clearly express a willingness to learn and be part of a team focused on a large mission while demonstrating these qualities through past employment, educational, or volunteer service.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Executive Director with setting and taking minutes for quarterly meetings of the board of directors
  • Support the Executive Director with scheduling and other administrative tasks
  • Lead the logistics for annual events and monthly member gatherings
  • Support work on the AmeriCorps and VISTA grants as needed
  • Support communications efforts through social media channels


For the next two years, our organization will be making some exciting new changes. Our staff has also mostly turned over in the past two years. The combined evolution of those changes will result in the need for some extensive one-time projects like developing a system of organization for our files from the past 20 years, leading the development of a new website (with an outside contracted partner), and guiding the successful applicant’s colleagues through transition to a new email communication system.



A successful candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with the AmeriCorps and/or VISTA programs.
  • Strong organizational skills and a track record of leading projects to successful completion in either a professional, educational, or volunteer capacity.
  • Experience and comfort with virtual work environments, working on a remote team, and experience with a variety of technology platforms.
  • Self-motivated with strong time-management skills and careful attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license for occasional in- and out-of-state travel.
  • Successful completion of a criminal history background checks


Other desired qualifications:

  • Experience with and knowledge of higher education in general and a working knowledge of community-engaged learning and civic engagement in higher education in particular
  • Experience with community organization capacity building, including but not limited to knowledge of volunteer recruitment, retention, and training
  • Experience with necessary technology and/or experience learning new technology platforms including those related to grant management; databases; accounting; project management; image and video editing; website management; web conferencing; and social media channels. Core platforms to our organization include Google Workspace, Trello, Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, Canva, Mailchimp, Adobe Creative Suite, Zoom, Facebook/Instagram, and Twitter. 



We have staff located across multiple states in several cities. This position is based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and will be required to do work in our offices at Augsburg University. Our staff has flexibility to work in the office or remotely and this position will work with the Executive Director to determine the schedule for when they will be in the office.



Occasional long days around retreats and conferences.  Ability to travel cross-state by car.  Most days working primarily on a computer in an office.


Salary range: Between $43,000 and $46,000
