MINNEAPOLIS, MN: Today, Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact announced The College of St. Scholastica as the newest member of its two-state coalition of 58 colleges and universities. This coalition represents presidents from every sector of higher education. Members are committed to the public purpose of higher education, including civic engagement and service-learning opportunities that engage students and impact communities.

“We are excited for the possibilities of this new partnership,” said Iowa Campus Compact Executive Director Emily Shields. “The College of St. Scholastica has a rich tradition of preparing students for life’s purpose and we look forward to supporting those efforts.”

St. Scholastica is an independent private college with locations across Minnesota, including the original campus in Duluth. Enrollment in undergraduate and graduate programs has grown from 2,200 to 4,000 in the last decade. In addition to joining the coalition, President Barbara McDonald has also joined the organization’s board of directors.

“St. Scholastica is thrilled to be engaged with Minnesota Campus Compact,” McDonald said. “The Compact’s mission of service-learning and civic engagement aligns well with our values, and will provide opportunities for our students to contribute to the common good through their service”.

Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact strengthens the capacity of colleges and universities to fulfill the public purposes of higher education through its network of 58 colleges and universities. This includes educating students through community and civic learning experiences and making an impact in communities through reciprocal partnerships that address community-identified goals. IAMNCC creates partnership opportunities, supports quality programming through professional development, and promotes the importance of the civic mission.
