Minnesota Campus Compact is partnering with LeadMN to bring together local and national experts to share best practices in how we can help students have their voice heard in the 2018 election.

If you would like to register a team but do not have a full team assembled, please complete the registration form with your information and contact Outreach Coordinator Raisa Elhadi at relhadi {at} leadmn(.)org when your full team is assembled. Each team must have at least one student and one faculty member.

Democracy Shark Tank

We are inviting higher education institutions from across Minnesota to organize teams of faculty, student life staff, campus administrators and students to participate in our Democracy Shark Tank. This interactive competition will allow participants to put the skills learned earlier in the day into action.

The campus teams will develop ideas and plans to support student voter engagement in the 2018 election. Then they pitch those ideas to a panel of “Sharks” that will invest $10,000 worth of seed funding to help support campuses’ work.

Shark Tank Handout Below

August 28, 2018, 2 – 3 p.m.
The ALL IN Challenge is a national, nonpartisan initiative that supports and recognizes colleges and universities working to improve civic learning, political engagement, and voter participation rates. The Challenge encourages institutions to help students to form the habits of active and informed citizenship and institutionalize democratic engagement activities and programs – making them a defining feature of campus life. In this webinar, specifically for Minnesota Campus Compact campuses, Catherine Fish, associate director of the ALL IN Challenge, will be joined by David Woodard of Concordia University, St. Paul, a Minnesota campus coordinator of the ALL IN Challenge. They will share the mission of the Challenge, why your campus might want to participate, and how to join.
