Mission and History

Founded in 1994, Minnesota Campus Compact’s mission is to support our member colleges and universities as they fulfill the public purpose that is at the heart of higher education. We partner with institutions to assist in prioritizing what matters most and to adapt to changing times in ways that allow us to continue to have a positive impact in our communities and on the world.

In 2019, the organization formed a three-year strategic alliance with Iowa Campus Compact. The alliance will allow us to operate more efficiently and effectively so that we can work with more of your students, staff, faculty, and partners to address the most pressing issues that face us all from political polarity to student food insecurity to workforce readiness.

Together, Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact strengthens the capacity of colleges and universities to fulfill the public purposes of higher education through its network of 58 campuses. This includes educating students through community and civic learning experiences and making an impact in communities through reciprocal partnerships that address community-identified goals. IAMNCC creates partnership opportunities, supports quality programming through professional development, and promotes the importance of the civic mission.

Minnesota Campus Compact is hosted by the generous support of Augsburg University and based on campus in the Sabo Center for Democracy and Citizenship.
