Webinar on Nonviolence and Civic Life

March 21 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

This webinar, moderated by Harry Boyte, Senior Scholar in Public Work Philosophy at Augsburg, and Marie-Louise Ström, long-time South African democracy educator, discusses nonviolence, understood as a set of disciplines and philosophy that can be a profound resource for creating healthy civic life and sustaining individuals committed to civic engagement. Nonviolence seeks to understand opponents, not to defeat or humiliate them; it is directed at actions rather than people. Anyone at a Campus Compact member institution or community-based organization is welcome to participate at no charge; register at the link below to get log-in information.
