Living in a Virtual World: How Nonprofits and Volunteers Can Benefit from Cyber Volunteerism
January 30 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
Volunteers today come in many forms. Giving your time to a good cause can include more than being physically on site—and in an increasingly digital world, being “in person” isn’t required. Every day, volunteers across the country lend a hand virtually, from computers, tablets, phones and other mobile devices. All you need is Internet access—and sometimes, just a phone.
This webinar will answer the question “what is virtual volunteering?” cover the history, the benefits, how to become a virtual volunteer, where to recruit and how to manage virtual volunteers, and resources that will help you get started connecting right away. Tracy Nielsen, Executive Director of HandsOn Twin Cities will be joined by Kate Errickson from Minnesota Children’s Museum to discuss how their organization is putting online volunteers to work to advance their mission.
