Community Engagement Network Gathering
February 24 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Join colleagues with significant responsibility and leadership in civic and community engagement for an interactive day focused on key issues in our day-to-day work and larger context. The morning will begin with a reflective session on the identities and experiences that shape each of us, then focus on the possibilities for deeper impact (and institutional integration) through a citizen professional framework, which will be introduced by Lena Jones, Political Science faculty member, Minneapolis Community and Technical College, and Margaret (Peg) Finders, Chair of the Department of Education, and Civic Studies Fellow, Augsburg College. After lunch, each community of practice will meet, while other participants will discuss in small groups the topics they consider most important. Finally, we’ll gather back together to exchange useful resources and closing comments. With questions, please contact Julie.
*The 2016-17 communities of practice focus on facilitating dialogue and collaboration across differences, developing campus cultures of engagement, and enhancing engagement efforts’ accessibility, relevance, and impact.
